"The best part are those days when everything lays out in front of you and you see things so clearly. You find exactly where you want to put the camera. You're in tune with what you're doing." ~Scott Hicks, Shine
As the old adage goes, there is no substitution for good planning and this warning has particular relevance to the film and video business. Dan has had a great deal of practice in the planning business, with over twenty-five years of experience handling the numerous details involved in producing. If he's learned anything it's this--that you have to plan for everything to happen, one detail at a time.
We understand that your company is not in the film business, you don't produce videos on a regular basis, and you probably have no interest in adding the moniker of film producer to your credentials. So one of the greatest advantages of using our script-to-screen services is our ability to handle every production detail for you—not only providing the cast and crew, sets, studio, teleprompter, dolly, props and meals; but also seeing to details such as arranging for back-up shoots in case of inclement weather, keeping your key people constantly updated on important project developments and even arranging for your lodging and transportation if you wish. With over twenty-five years of experience, we know that what can go wrong, eventually will unless you plan meticulously.
Due to our ability to plan, organize and manage well, we offer an on-budget completion guarantee. Most of our clients really appreciate that. That way you'll know that we won't be coming to you with our hat in our hand requesting additional funds because we got rained out, someone didn't show up, or expenses were more than anticipated.
If any production detail goes wrong from our end or there are simply unforeseen, unfortunate circumstances, it's our problem. We feel that one of the services you are paying our company for is to feel confident and comfortable when working with us. You can't do that if you're concerned that your production company may increase your costs at any time.
In addition to taking care of all the behind-the-scenes details, we plan for the on-camera details as well. We visit the location prior to the shoot and prepare a shooting script, which is a list of all the shots we'll be needing and a timeline for getting them. Now, we may change that plan or improvise on the day of the shoot--after all, creativity is our specialty--but the important thing is that we always have a fallback plan on hand.
So even if there's not that extra magic in the air on the day of the shoot, even if we don't come up with something new and extraordinary, at least we have a great baseline game plan to follow. This extra attention to detail is insurance that production will proceed smoothly and that at a minimum, very high quality will be achieved.
Our attention to detail also pays off in casting the best talent and rehearsing with them prior to our shoot dates to insure that we bring out their very best performances. Click on the following links to find out more about our casting and rehearsal process.
